Sydney – March 1, 2013 – L.E.K. Consulting, a global management consulting firm, today announced the opening of its new office in Seoul, South Korea, the firm’s 22nd office worldwide. The new office will be led by three new L.E.K. Partners: Seokho KangJaewon Choi and Youngjun Cho.

“L.E.K. has undertaken significant work in South Korea over many years, and we are delighted to establish a permanent office led by three highly experienced consulting professionals,” said Simon Barrett, regional head of L.E.K. Asia. “In addition to creating an important new link in our Asian office network, this presents an opportunity to better serve our global clients, grow our client base in Korea and add an interesting new destination for L.E.K. professionals to transfer permanently or temporarily through our global swap program.”

The decision to expand into South Korea is part of L.E.K. Consulting’s global development strategy to grow the office network in key geographies and deepen the relationship with new and existing clients throughout Asia. The office and its partners will focus largely on industrial products; automotive; aviation and travel; biopharmaceutical and healthcare; and media, entertainment and technology work where both the Seoul-based partners and L.E.K. globally have deep industry expertise.

“With South Korea’s rapid economic development, we are pleased to drive L.E.K.’s expansion in South Korea” said Youngjun Cho, a new partner in L.E.K. Consulting’s Korea office. “There are many world class Korean companies in automobiles, electronics, mobile handsets, semi-conductors, display, telecommunications, energy, petrochemicals and more. Our Korean team has significant experience advising leading companies in those industries. Based on this, we look forward to building a strong presence in South Korea and supporting the firm’s global growth strategy.”
