Boston, MA — September 30, 2014 — L.E.K. Consulting announced today that it has received Consulting Magazine’s inaugural Achievement Award for Excellence in Social & Community Investment for its pro bono work with San Francisco-based Zen Hospice Project (ZHP), a Buddhist-centered home for contemplative end-of-life care. According to Consulting Magazine, this award recognizes outstanding work from firms who invest money, time, effort and sweat-equity on engagements that serve a social and community cause. L.E.K. and ZHP were recognized at an awards dinner on September 18th in New York City.

“We are honored to have had the opportunity to work with Zen Hospice Project, said L.E.K. Managing Director Tip Kim. “The work they do is extraordinary and their impact on patients is very meaningful. We hope that our contribution to their cause empowers the Zen Hospice Project to have a bigger impact on the role of end-of-life care in our health care system.”

The focus of the project was to create, in collaboration with the ZHP, a practical, realizable strategic path forward for ZHP that was aligned not only with its objectives and roots, but also cognizant of the limitations of a not-for-profit, volunteer-centric organization.
