Solving for a Better Future: The Transition to a Sustainable Energy Future
- Video / Webinar
Achieving net zero requires more than just renewable energy — it demands innovative, advanced energy solutions. In this video, we explore a groundbreaking collaboration between L.E.K. Consulting and the World Economic Forum, aimed at accelerating the shift away from fossil fuels. The partnership reveals that the main barrier to scaling these technologies isn’t the technology itself, but a lack of confidence and investment. Gain insights into how clean fuels, carbon removal, energy storage and advanced nuclear can transform our energy landscape, reduce emissions and create a brighter future. Watch now to learn more about the path to net zero by 2050.
Achieving net zero is imperative, but renewables aren't the answer alone. A variety of advanced energy solutions are also required.
Since 2022, the forum has been working closely with companies in the advanced energy solution space to accelerate both technology maturity and deployment by forging new collaborations and partnerships.
With their global perspective, rapid mobilization, industry contacts, and advanced energy stakeholder experience, LEK was selected by the World Economic Forum as a collaboration partner on a project aimed at supporting the transition away from fossil fuels.
We were delighted to collaborate with the World Economic Forum on this important project.
The Forum's Advanced Energy Solutions Community has developed a new vision for the future of its rapidly emerging sector. The vision provides a framework for industry and government to rethink value chains, operating models, and to accelerate the decarbonisation journey through the adoption of new technologies.
Together, LEK and the forum identified one of the biggest challenges to rapid deployment, the need to increase capacity at scale.
Advanced energy solutions will be key to reduce carbon emissions in the ERC gap. Clean fuels, carbon removal, energy storage, and advanced nuclear solutions will not only help address climate change, but will also have a positive impact on society and the environment, improving quality of life and creating new jobs.
Working collaboratively, what they found is groundbreaking.
The research carried out in collaboration with EDK has revealed that the main challenge to the deployment of scaling advanced energy solutions is not on the technology itself, but rather on the lack of confidence on the new solutions, which also results in a lack of sufficient investments and a limited understanding of cost and benefits.
Energy companies, energy users, financial institutions, policy makers, and the public need to be confident that these technologies are proven, safe, and able to deliver the most affordable path to net zero emissions by 2050.
The resulting vision speaks to a successful collaboration.
We look forward to supporting industry at large and policy makers on the journey towards advanced energy solutions.
We did what we do best, solving complex client problems while helping to shape a better future.
