John Goddard

John Goddard is Vice Chair for Sustainability and a Senior Partner at L.E.K. Consulting. He leads the firm’s sustainability initiatives and is a founding member of the L.E.K. Sustainability Centre of Excellence. The Centre draws together expertise, best practices and strategic insights from the firm’s practices and geographies to support organizations as they work to meet the challenges of — and identify opportunities related to — climate change and the broader sustainability agenda. John is a thought leader in the sustainability space. He has been providing though leadership and fresh insights through L.E.K.’s platform and external media outlets such as the Financial Times, The Economist, CNBC, HBR and more. John has been recognised as a Global Leader in Consulting by the Consulting Magazine in 2018. 

John has been a Partner since 1995 and has more than 25 years’ experience in strategy consulting, performance improvement, transaction support, and business development in the private and public sectors around the world. He has helped clients address issues such as strategic positioning, business plan development, acquisition due diligence, business modelling, forecasting, large scale tender submission development, and dispute resolution support.

John has a particularly strong focus on industrial equipment and technology, having advised some of the largest clients in the sector. Industrial sector interests include advanced materials, energy equipment, engineered products, instrumentation and sensing, aftermarket and service businesses as well as considerable experience working with private equity funds.

In addition, John also is a senior member of L.E.K.’s Transport & Logistics practice. Over the past 20 years he has been closely involved in transport developments globally, advising major transport operators, leading freight and logistics providers, public sector authorities and regulatory bodies. His experience spans the aviation, bus, coach, marine, road and rail sectors.

Prior to joining L.E.K., John worked for Procter & Gamble developing new products and brands in Europe and the United States. He received a BSc (Eng) in Chemical Engineering (First Class) from Imperial College and a Master of Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he was a Fulbright Scholar.
