Boston, MA (March 9, 2018) – L.E.K. Consulting Senior Engagement Managers Amanda Davis and Tiara Kawahara Shiell have been named Rising Stars of the Profession by Consulting magazine. Davis, who is a member of the firm’s Industrials practice, has been recognized for her excellence in leadership, and Kawahara Shiell, a member of the Life Sciences practice, for client service.

Based in L.E.K.’s New York office, Davis advises clients in the Industrials sector on strategic planning, M&A strategy, and buy- and sell-side due diligence. She joined L.E.K. in 2008 as an associate after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania and rejoined the firm after receiving her MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business in 2013. Davis is an active co-leader in the firm’s Women’s Network and regularly participates on L.E.K.’s Pan-Mass Challenge team to raise money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Kawahara Shiell is based in L.E.K.’s Los Angeles office and advises Life Sciences clients on corporate growth, product commercialization, R&D portfolio prioritization and transaction support. She also works closely with L.E.K.’s leadership to optimize internal operations and optimize staff’s work-life balance, and is a regular speaker at and participant in external women’s networks. Kawahara Shiell joined L.E.K. in 2010 after receiving a Ph.D. in Cancer Biology from Stanford University, and holds degrees in Biology, Chemistry and Integrated Science from Northwestern University.
Both Davis and Kawahara Shiell will be honored at a gala awards dinner on April 19, 2018, in Chicago and are featured in the March 2018 issue of Consulting magazine.
