London - June 9, 2011 - L.E.K. Consulting has been named “Consultants of the Year” at the 2011 Health Investor Awards. The judges recognized L.E.K. for its outstanding contribution to the industry and selected the firm as the winner from a shortlist that included McKinsey & Company, Finnamore, Candesic, CIL and Alliance Surgical.

Jonathan Sparey, Partner at L.E.K. Consulting, commented: “L.E.K.’s Healthcare team has established itself as one of the leading advisers to European healthcare providers and investors. We are proud to support our clients in addressing their complex commercial challenges and through some of this dynamic sector’s most significant transactions. The year ahead promises to present many opportunities in the healthcare sector and we look forward to helping our clients realize their potential.”

The Health Investor judges commented: “In one of the most competitive categories in this year’s awards L.E.K. emerge as the best of a very good bunch.  They are a well-regarded international business with a fast growing European profile and providing full coverage in health and life/biosciences.  Their close involvement in four prime UK commercial health sector projects makes them fitting recipients of this year’s award.”

The Health Investor Award builds on another significant industry award for L.E.K. At the beginning of the year, L.E.K. was named Health Sector Adviser of the Year for 2011 by Acquisitions Monthly, reflecting the value placed on L.E.K.’s strategic and commercial advice within the industry. Henry Gibbon, Acquisitions Monthly Editor noted: “Since December 1st 2009, L.E.K. has demonstrated its position as one of the foremost transactional advisers to the healthcare sector and has continued to prove its value as a commercial adviser to a variety of corporate and private equity clients.”

L.E.K.’s healthcare teams combine deep commercial and sector experience with a highly analytical approach to solving business problems. The firm has completed more than 3,000 health sector projects globally since it was founded in 1983, of which more than 1,000 were transaction-related.
