São Paulo, Brazil — June 1, 2016 — L.E.K. Consulting, a global management consulting firm, announced today that it has appointed Fernando Fernandes as managing director and partner, to help lead the firm’s Retail & Consumer Products practice in South America.

Fernandes brings to L.E.K. 20 years of experience and leadership in both the retail and consumer products and brands industries, as well as management consulting. He joins L.E.K. from Strategy& Brazil (formerly Booz & Company), where he was a vice president. Prior to joining Strategy&, he was a partner and vice president at Booz Allen Hamilton, where he led the consumer and media practices in South America and grew the business to be the largest practice group for Booz in the region.

Fernandes earned a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Universidade de São Paulo and holds an MBA from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.
