Dan McKone and Alan Lewis, Managing Directors at L.E.K. Consulting, will discuss a disciplined, methodical approach to helping business leaders grow their business with less investment and less risk by focusing on the myriad opportunities that are often hiding in plain sight, at the edge of their core business. The authors researched nearly 600 companies worldwide across 60+ industry sectors. They found that only about 10% of these companies are successful at exploiting profit opportunities at the edge of their business.

About Dan McKone and Alan Lewis

Dan McKone is a Managing Director and Partner, and a member of L.E.K.'s Global Leadership Team. Dan co-leads Edge Strategy® services at L.E.K. and is the co-author of Edge Strategy: A New Mindset for Profitable Growth, a book published by Harvard Business Review Press. He also leads the firm's Customer Experience and Loyalty service line. Over the last two decades, Dan has been a thought leader on the growth and optimization of consumer-facing businesses. Alan Lewis is a Managing Director and Partner in L.E.K. Consulting's Boston office. He co-leads Edge Strategy® services at L.E.K. and is the co-author of Edge Strategy: A New Mindset for Profitable Growth. Alan was selected as a Top 25 Consultant by Consulting magazine in 2016 for Excellence in Retail. He has more than 12 years of experience working on a wide variety of projects, including corporate strategy development, new product development and commercialization, mergers and acquisitions support, program management, and organizational improvement. Prior to joining L.E.K.'s London office in 2003, Alan spent five years with chemicals multinationals Imperial Chemical Industries PLC and INEOS. Alan received a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from the University College Dublin. He is qualified as a professional engineer with the Institute of Chemical Engineers in the U.K. and holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Cambridge.
