Koya Tsukiji

Koya Tsukiji is a Partner in L.E.K. Consulting’s Life Sciences practice, based in Tokyo. He brings more than 15 years of experience advising pharmaceutical, biotech and healthcare organizations, as well as private equity firms, on strategy, digital innovation and M&A-driven transformation.
Koya’s expertise focuses on driving large-scale transformation programs for leading Japanese organizations. His work includes designing and implementing data platforms, developing AI-enabled business strategies and driving enterprise-wide transformation initiatives, with direct responsibility for multimillion-dollar programs spanning healthcare and advanced technologies.
Prior to joining L.E.K., Koya was a managing partner in the healthcare and life sciences practices at another global consulting firm, where he led multi-year digital and AI-driven transformation programs. Earlier in his career, he advised global pharmaceutical and healthcare companies and private equity firms on organizational transformation, R&D operating models and commercial strategy, and led cross-border engagements and post-merger integration efforts across Japan, the U.S. and other international markets. He began his career in global strategic consulting, investment banking and corporate development, supporting M&A transactions in healthcare and technology, and previously worked in the medical device sector.
Koya holds a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering and Business Management from Imperial College London and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Tokyo. He also studied at the University of California, Irvine.
