- Video / Webinar
L.E.K.’s Chinmay Jhaveri connects with Professor Yusra Mouzughi to discuss how the University of Birmingham Dubai is equipping students for success beyond the classroom. From state-of-the-art labs to real-world projects and strong employer partnerships, the conversation highlights how the institution blends academic rigor with hands-on experience, preparing students to thrive in the region’s fast-evolving innovation economy.
One of the key considerations for a top ranked institution like University of Birmingham would be to maintain its, experience, both in terms of an academic experience and the student quality. Would be great to understand your perspective in terms of how you have been able to manage that in this campus for the last eight years.
Prospective Birmingham student would have done a lot of research and a lot of homework in terms of the the institution, the program, the expectations, the assessment, etcetera. So we have, very, clearly purposeful students who or applicants who will, be actually talking to us now about, joining in twenty twenty six. They are very, very committed to joining a university like ours, a global top one hundred university. So the the issue of quality of student hasn't really been a problem for us. We are very clear about the equity of standards across the institution. We go by the the the kind of the philosophy of one university, two campuses.
The students will get a University of Birmingham degree. So the equity of program, the of quality is critically important for what we do. The student experience ambassador programs, through ambassador programs, through the student activities, through the the student leaders body who we have more than thirty five or forty clubs and and societies That's true. For students. And actually fundamental to that is how we support them in their, endeavors around employability.
So just a couple of weeks ago, we had over fifty or forty five Chinese employers on campus here open to Chinese students and other students to recruit that next stage of talent for them. So this is something we do on a regular basis so that we're supporting with CV writing, with interview skills, with internships, with actual employment. It's only one part of it. Other parts are, you know, the the creativity, the sports, the so it's it's, I think the important thing to take away is it has to be a comprehensive journey rather than just the content of a high quality university.
Very interesting. So it is a holistic experience, not just focused on academics, focused on extracurriculars, the clubs, as well as the employability, which makes it a very well rounded, experience.
Absolutely.
