L.E.K. Consulting, a global strategy consultancy, is pleased to announce that Hayato Akagawa has joined the firm as a Principal in its Healthcare practice, based in Tokyo, Japan. 

With over 15 years of experience, Hayato specializes in developing portfolio strategies, market access strategies, and driving sales model transformation within the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries. His career includes senior roles at leading firms such as Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Pfizer Japan, Investment bank and consulting firm where he led innovative strategies that delivered significant growth and efficiency improvements for his clients.

Before joining L.E.K., Hayato served as Director of Healthcare Industry Advisory at global consultancy and investment bank, where he developed and managed client relationships with major Japanese pharmaceutical companies. He has led diverse projects, from portfolio strategy and market access to go-to-market models for new products, in various TA’s including rare disease, oncology and immunology. Hayato also brings a strong background in brand and portfolio management from his roles at Janssen Pharmaceuticals and Pfizer, where he managed and grew multi-billion yen portfolios and executed successful product launches. 

Hayato graduated with a Bachelor of Economics from Keio University and holds advanced proficiency in English and Japanese, allowing him to engage effectively with global teams and clients alike.
