London – April 21, 2007 – L.E.K. The Queen's Awards for Enterprise are the UK's most prestigious awards for business performance. The Award’s International Trade category recognizes companies that have demonstrated substantial growth in overseas earnings and commercial success.

L.E.K. Consulting has been honored with the award for increasing export revenues by 50% to £56m over a three-year period and, in particular, for its success in penetrating the U.S. market.

Formed in London in 1983, L.E.K Consulting has grown to over 700 staff across 17 offices in Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific.  The firm specializes in strategy development, transaction support and performance improvement consulting.  It has built a strong reputation for its rigorous data-driven approach, delivering advice based on rational deduction and in-depth analysis.  L.E.K. Consulting’s client list includes major private and public sector organizations, including more than 25% of the FTSE 100 over the past three years.

L.E.K. Consulting advises a diverse range of industries, from financial services and healthcare to transport, media and retail, among others. Since its inception, the firm has paid particular attention to structurally emerging markets, using its individual style of strategy consulting to help unlock the commercial solutions that enable a market’s development.

This focus has led L.E.K. Consulting to become the global market leader in strategic advice to the biotech industry, build a world wide reputation as an expert in privatized surface transport and become a major adviser to the private equity sector – last year alone, the firm advised on over 300 separate private equity deals globally and was named Due Diligence Adviser of the Year by Acquisitions Monthly and Specialist Adviser of the Year by Acquisition Finance. L.E.K. Consulting also has a growing practice advising organizations on the strategic and economic implications of climate change, including carbon footprinting and renewable energy sources.

From its base in London, L.E.K. Consulting has built a thriving business in the U.S., mainland Europe, Australasia, China and the Far East, with offices established in cities including London, Boston, Los Angeles, Paris, Munich, Shanghai, Sydney and Tokyo.  L.E.K. Consulting has built its international success by developing a structure that fosters a high level of global consistency and collaboration.  The firm’s experts in each of the offices around the world share deep industry knowledge, corporate relationships and individual contacts, and frequently collaborate across regions and offices in order to secure and execute project work.

“We are extremely proud to be the first Strategic Management Consultancy to win the Queen’s Award for Enterprise,” says Iain Evans, Chairman, L.E.K. Consulting.  “As an organization, we have experienced exceptional growth over the last three years, both in the UK and internationally.  Our global strategy has enabled us to create an unrivalled deductive capability that provides our clients with the highest level of certainty around their most critical business decisions, wherever they are based. Our success is a reflection of the strength of our culture, the quality of our people and their commitment to our clients.”

“From the outset, we aimed to create a competitive global strategy consulting firm from a London base,” continues Evans.  “We believe that L.E.K. Consulting is a rare example of a UK-originated professional services firm that has penetrated the U.S. market and achieved success through organic growth, against a strong set of global competitors.”
