Mike Mrdak’s appointment comes at a time when the consultancy is expanding its government practice in Australia.

SYDNEY — (16 July 2020) — L.E.K. Consulting Australia announced today that it has appointed Mike Mrdak as a member of its national Advisory Board and will serve as a senior strategic adviser on key projects for the firm.

Mrdak brings more than 30 years of public sector experience having led four commonwealth departments as Secretary and Deputy Secretary. He has led the Commonwealth Department of Communications and the Arts, Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development and was a deputy secretary of Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet where he was the Commonwealth Coordinator-General overseeing the effective implementation of key Commonwealth economic stimulus infrastructure investments.

Mrdak’ was appointed an Officer (AO) of the Order of Australia in the Queen’s Birthday 2016 honours list for his distinguished service to public administration through executive roles in the infrastructure, transport and logistics sector, and through the development of policy reform initiatives.

Mrdak was involved in the development of the Western Sydney Airport and national aviation policy. His career highlights include the duplication of the Pacific Highway, national transport regulation reform and leading the design and implementation of a long-term budget planning framework for Commonwealth infrastructure projects.

The L.E.K. Australia Advisory Board consists of Lisa McIntyre (Chair), Linda Nicholls, Emma Stein and Mike Mrdak. His appointment signals L.E.K’s intent to broaden its government business and follows the appointment of Janice Lee from EY to lead the Government practice in Australia.
