Hello, Hello, everyone. In continuation of my previous video, where I mentioned that I'll be talking more about the role that international students have played in helping many European higher education institutions and how their US counterparts could learn from their experiences. Universities in Australia and UK have about twenty five percent students that come from international countries. The same statistic for the US sits closer to five percent international students and ninety five percent domestic students.
There is an immense opportunity for US higher education institutions to bring in more international students as a means of diversifying their student population, improving the experience for the overall student body, while creating additional revenue sources for the institutions themselves and a high quality talent pool for the job market in the US. There are several complexities that are associated with recruiting international students. The first thing is that diversity is a must, not only economically because you wanna ensure that you diversify the student base that you recruit from. In
case there's one country that goes out of favor because of regulations or macroeconomic factors. But more importantly, because you wanna ensure as you think about your institution's rankings and your student experience that you have a diverse set of students who bring different views, that each of them can learn from. Secondly, the international student recruitment basically works through a complex network of many facilitators in the segment, which may include pathway providers, English language training providers, and study abroad agents.
Understanding and curating a network of dependable partners for higher education institutions is another critical factor as I think about recruiting international students. And last but not the least, high education institutions must focus on the quality parameters as they think about which kind of student is relevant for their institution, and they mustn't let the quality of the student down, which means they must have very stringent requirements, that match the entry requirements for their domestic student body and also review the applications of international students to ensure that they're getting the right quality of students in the door that then helps promote the outcomes for the university, their overall rankings, and the student experience.
Now we spend a lot of time in this sector, and we have helped multiple providers in the value chain, including universities as they have thought about designing their international student recruitment programs. And we would be happy to assist those who, are interested in exploring this further.
