Approach and Recommendations

We performed a detailed review of the client’s current R&D strategy and organization and benchmarked it against the competition. We leveraged best practices that could be incorporated into the client’s R&D process and organization. We developed specific recommendations for action with management to determine the feasibility and potential impact on the organization. Finally, we worked with our client to develop and implement a new R&D project governance system.

Results

Our client reengineered its R&D organization and approach to be a cross-functional team with earlier involvement of the commercial leads with clear stage gates and decision criteria. As a result, our client improved coordination across the research, development and commercial functions leading to increased productivity.
