Boston, MA (Mar. 15, 2022) — L.E.K. Consulting Managing Director Matt Wheeler and Principal Sam Shinner have been named Rising Stars of the Profession by Consulting magazine. Wheeler, a member of the global strategy consultancy’s Pharmaceutical Services practice, was recognized for excellence in strategy and Shinner, a member of the firm’s Technology practice, was recognized for excellence in client service.

Wheeler, a leader in the Pharmaceutical Services practice, is based in the Boston office and was one of the fastest partner promotions in L.E.K.’s history. Focused on clinical and commercial services, he has over a decade of consulting experience and has advised pharmaceutical services clients on corporate growth strategy, new market entry, product/service development, and M&A. Wheeler is heavily involved in mentorship programs at both Boston College and the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
Shinner, based in the San Francisco office, has excelled in providing impactful insights to clients while pioneering innovative approaches to complex problems. He has broad experience in the tech sector, in particular helping to develop the enterprise software business, with a focus on EdTech, FinTech and Sales & Marketing technology. Shinner’s contributions to the firm extend beyond client engagements, as he is heavily involved with recruiting efforts and has a strong passion for mentoring junior staff.
Shinner and Wheeler will be honored at a gala awards dinner on Thursday April 21 at the Blackstone Hotel in Chicago.
