Richard Mould is co-lead of the Payments Practice and a member of the Financial Services team at L.E.K. Consulting’s London office. He has extensive experience across retail financial services and a particular focus on payments, lending and innovation where he advises clients on strategies to deliver revenue growth and shareholder value in a rapidly changing landscape driven by consumer trends, technology and regulation.
Richard started his career as an Associate at LEK and rejoined the firm in 2023 after spending two decades working at financial services firms. Over his career he has run a credit card portfolio, managed in-house payments capabilities and relationships with payment schemes and enhanced businesses both through digitisation and in response to regulatory observations. He has been responsible for a number of transformations of the payments landscape including bringing contactless payments to the UK. He has also built a corporate pre-paid card business and recently oversaw the development and adoption of open banking VRPs.
