Philippe De Backer is a Partner at L.E.K. Consulting. Based in Dubai, Philippe brings over 25 years of strategy consulting experience and focuses on financial services with a particular expertise in Banking (Retail, CIB and embedded finance), where he advises clients on all aspects of strategy and transformation to create shareholder value in a disrupted competitive landscape. He is widely published and authored several books on management and strategy.
Philippe has also worked extensively at the crossroads between financial services and other sectors where financial services create new innovative business and revenue models. Leveraging his Wall Street Capital Market experience, Philippe brings fresh perspective at integrating drivers of value and balance sheet considerations to help transform and optimize financial institutions while reinventing themselves. Philippe’s work led him also to acquire an extensive M&A experience particularly in retail banking and speciality finance.
Philippe’s lived and worked in the US, UK, Belgium, France and Dubai helping clients globally.
Before joining L.E.K in 2024, Philippe was leading the global financial services practice of two prestigious strategy consulting firms. Philippe has an MBA from Tuck School (Dartmouth) and a BA from Colgate University and is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society.
