Doug King is a Director in L.E.K. Consulting’s London office and co-leads the firm’s global Payments Practice. Doug’s primary focus area is payments and related technology providers and the financial institutions and their clients deploying these solutions, where he advises clients on strategies to navigate changing customer requirements, disruption from shifting technology and regulatory trends to maximise shareholder value.
Doug’s work has a significant emphasis on practical strategies to deliver top line growth from a deep understanding of industry dynamics and customer needs to deliver organic growth, focussed innovation prioritisation, mergers and acquisitions and performance improvement programmes. He has worked for blue chip clients, investors and governments across the UK, Europe, US and the Middle East. He has a particular interest in deploying quantitative analyses to deliver critical insights into market and competitive dynamics and identifying the levers to enhance business performance.
Doug first joined L.E.K. as an Associate from 1998-2001 and returned in 2024. In between he worked at Barclays Bank, Parthenon-EY and Deloitte in a variety of advisory roles.
