Peter McKelvey is head of L.E.K. Consulting’s Boston office and a member of L.E.K.'s North America Regional Management Committee. His two primary areas of focus are private equity and biopharmaceuticals & life sciences. Peter has nearly 22 years of experience with L.E.K. and specializes in corporate strategy development and merger and acquisition advisory services. He has broad expertise working with private equity clients both in evaluating new investment opportunities and in providing strategic enhancements for portfolio companies. Within biopharmaceuticals & life sciences, Peter has advised on a wide range of issues including in-licensing and commercialization strategies, new product launches, acquisition screening and due diligence, acquisition valuation, partnership structuring, and international expansion.

Prior to joining L.E.K. in 1991, Peter worked for General Electric Company where he held several positions in business planning and finance. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics, magna cum laude, from Williams College and a Master of Business Administration with distinction from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was named a Palmer Scholar.
