Trevor Harrison

Trevor Harrison is Chairman of L.E.K.’s UK Advisory Board. Previously, Mr. Harrison was Chairman of the Chelsea Building Society, Marshalls Ltd, Advance Travel Partnership Ltd, and Hollas Group Plc. He also held directorships at AECI Ltd, Polyfin Ltd, UK Atomic Energy Authority, Croda International Plc, Photobition Plc, PhoneLink Plc, and Prebon Group Plc. From 1965 to 1993, Mr. Harrison served in several positions at Imperial Chemical Industries, including Commercial Services Director, Group Controller and Chief Accountant, Deputy Treasurer, Chief Financial Officer, and General Manager Planning. Prior to joining Imperial Chemical Industries, he worked for Hodgson Harris & Co.

Sir Geoffrey Owen

Sir Geoffrey Owen is Senior Fellow at the Department of Management, London School of Economics, where he conducts teaching and research in the field of corporate strategy, corporate governance and international competition. Sir Geoffrey is also Chairman of the Wincott Foundation. After two years’ national service in the Royal Air Force, Sir Geoffrey joined the Financial Times as a Feature Writer in 1958. He held several posts on the paper, including those of Industrial Correspondent, Industrial Editor, and U.S. Correspondent based in New York. He was Deputy Editor of the Financial Times from 1973 to 1980 and Editor from 1981 to 1990. Sir Geoffrey has written extensively in the field of business strategy and industrial performance and has published three books.

Sir Malcolm Rifkind

Sir Malcolm Rifkind is Member of Parliament for Kensington. He has practiced law as an Advocate and was appointed to the Queen’s Counsel in 1985. In 1979 he was appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State, transferred to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and was promoted to Minister of State in 1983. Sir Malcolm became a member of the Cabinet in 1986, as Secretary of State for Scotland. He also served as Secretary of State for Transport, Secretary of State for Defence, Foreign Secretary, Shadow Secretary of State for Work & Pensions and Welfare Reform, Chairman, Standards & Privileges Committee; Chairman, Intelligence and Security Committee; and UK representative Eminent Persons Group. Sir Malcolm is a member of the Dulverton Trust, a Vice President of Combat Stress and a Patron of Raleigh International. He has served on the Court of Edinburgh University and is an honorary colonel. He is also a member of the Queen's Bodyguard, the Royal Company of Archers.

Lord Wakeham

Lord Wakeham is an active member of the House of Lords and is the only member who has been leader of both the Lords and Commons. He is also Chancellor of Brunel University. Previously, Lord Wakeham was Chairman of the Press Complaints Commission for seven years, Chairman of the House of Lords Select Committee on Economic Affairs, and Chair of the Royal Commission on the Reform of the House of Lords. During his parliamentary career, Lord Wakeham was a Minister in the Treasury and Department of Industry and Secretary of State for Energy during electricity privatization.

Sir Peter Walters

Sir Peter Walters has held positions as Chairman of British Petroleum Company plc, Deputy Chairman of GlaxoSmithKline plc and Chairman of SmithKline Beecham plc. He was also Chairman of Midland Bank plc, Blue Circle Industries plc, Deputy Chairman of EMI plc and Deputy Chairman of HSBC Holdings plc. A former Director of the Post Office and of the National Westminster Bank, Sir Peter is a past-President of The General Council of British Shipping, The Society of Chemical Industry, the Institute of Manpower Studies and the Institute of Business Ethics. He was also Chairman of the Governing Body of the London Business School, President of the Institute of Directors, and a Trustee of the Institute of Economic Affairs.
