Dan Schechter is a Managing Director and Partner and leads L.E.K. Consulting’s Global Media, Entertainment & Technology practice. He has been with L.E.K. Consulting since 1986, starting in London before helping found the Los Angeles office. He has more than 35 years of experience consulting to major companies. Dan’s broad experience includes major internet companies, leading technology companies, the largest U.S. telcos, the largest movie and TV studios, OTT services, cinemas, cable channels, new advertising media, videogame publisers, casinos/gambling companies, consumer electronics companies, radio companies, magazines, news, theme parks, site-based entertainment, destinations, hotels, retailers, consumer product companies, restaurants, and many other sectors. He has led various practices for L.E.K., including utility, oil and gas, airline, environmental, marketing ROI, shareholder value, and destinations/tourism. He has worked on over 250 transactions for corporate and private equity clients. Prior to L.E.K., Dan worked for The Boston Consulting Group, Xerox Venture Capital, Harvard University, and other companies. Dan received an MBA from Stanford Business School and a BA in applied mathematics with decision and control, economics, and computer science from Harvard College, where he graduated cum laude.
