L.E.K. encourages community involvement. Every office has a community service committee to plan events in the local area that get L.E.K.ers out volunteering in their own communities. Our Boston office held its annual corporate volunteer day recently and made an impact for more than 250 students at Mendell Elementary School.

Teams of volunteers designed and painted relay race lines and the lines for one full soccer field while another team beautified one kickball field, two foursquare courts and one hopscotch court. L.E.K.ers painted six murals to encourage positive sporting behavior outside the school, and finally, created 95 welcome folders, writing personalized notes for incoming 5th graders serving as Junior Coaches for Playworks.

L.E.K. actively supports the communities surrounding our offices, with both financial and volunteer support. Employees are encouraged to suggest causes for the company to sponsor that will engage and provide rewarding opportunities for all staff. These sponsorships include a variety of projects, such as volunteering in local orphanages, building schools in rural China and longer-term commitments.

Some other examples include fundraising for and participation in the Pan-Mass Challenge bicycle race to raise monies for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, corporate volunteer days, collecting and wrapping gifts for local children during the holidays, donating clothing for those wishing to interview for jobs, and mentoring students in each community in math and other skills to prepare them for college. Odds are, if you work at L.E.K., you will be participating in one of the many community events we support.
