Tip Kim is head of L.E.K. Consulting’s San Francisco office and a leader in the Healthcare Services practice. He assists clients all along the health care value chain in taking advantage of opportunities that emerge as healthcare reform takes shape. His client base ranges from integrated, commercial, Medicare and Medicaid payers, health delivery providers, ancillary service providers and benefit managers, and enablers and technology innovators. Tip assists clients in such critical and rapidly changing areas as strategy development, consumer-centric marketing and segmentation, provider-payer integration, product development, adoption of technology to enable quantum improvements in quality and cost position, and the development of innovative business models for the ‘post-reform’ world. Tip’s perspectives on innovation is grounded on nearly a decade of experience working on strategic operations review, medical cost trend diagnostics, G&A optimization, root cause analysis, and extensive consumer research on senior consumer priorities and preferences. He is a domain knowledge expert for financial buyers in the healthcare technology and services space. He also has extensive experience outside of the healthcare sector in developing strategic and scenario planning tools and models for corporations. Tip first joined L.E.K. in 1992, and returned after receiving his Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations.
