L.E.K. Consulting

Community Support

L.E.K. actively supports the communities surrounding our offices, with both financial and volunteer support. Employees are encouraged to suggest causes for the company to sponsor that will engage and provide rewarding opportunities for all staff. These sponsorships include a variety of projects, such as volunteering in local orphanages and building schools in rural China, as well as longer-term commitments. Some examples of our charitable programs around the world include:

Social Mobility Foundation (SMF) – SMF aims to help 'A' Level students from less-privileged backgrounds to realize their potential by helping them enter university and progress on to a challenging career. L.E.K. participates in the SMF placement program, which matches students to internships within leading UK businesses. These placements give students valuable exposure to the business world before they enter university, helping them make more informed educational and career decisions.

Pan-Mass Challenge - For the last few years, L.E.K. has fielded a team that has participated in the 163-mile Pan-Mass Challenge bicycle ride from Wellesley, Massachusetts to Provincetown, Massachusetts. The Pan-Mass Challenge is the largest single athletic fundraising event in the United States and its purpose is to raise funds for cancer care and research at the world renowned Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Each year the L.E.K. PMC Team has successfully battled heat, hills and humidity to complete the ride and in the process L.E.K. has raised over $700,000 for the fight against cancer!

Inspire -  Inspire is a U.S.-based, national, non-profit consulting firm that offers affordable services to other non-profits looking to achieve greater social impact. Inspire is run by a volunteer staff of Associates from L.E.K. and three other consulting firms with locations in Boston, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Dallas. Inspire assists non-profit companies around the country in growth and expansion strategy, program development, financial planning and modeling, and a wide range of similar strategy-based services. Inspire’s clients are typically innovative and youth-focused non-profits and schools. To date, L.E.K Associates have worked on 20 Inspire cases serving organizations like the Boston Public Schools, Let’s Get Ready and The Posse Foundation.

Boston Cares - Boston Cares is a volunteer program dedicated to team-oriented volunteering at over 300 public schools and non-profit organizations in Boston. For example, activities include dog walking at animal shelters, park cleanups, holiday gift drives, and helping out at soup kitchens. One of the events L.E.K. participates in through Boston Cares is the Frosty & Friends Gift Drive. Every winter holiday, L.E.K.ers fulfill the wishes of disadvantaged children by responding to hand-written letters and purchasing holiday gifts.

Posse Foundation - The Posse Foundation is a national organization that identifies recruits and trains students from local public high schools to form multicultural teams called "Posses." These teams are then prepared – through an intensive eight-month Pre-Collegiate Training Program – for enrollment at top-tier universities throughout the United States.

Excel Academy Tutoring - Excel Academy is a public charter middle school in East Boston that addresses the severe academic underperformance and low college matriculation rates of students in these communities. L.E.K. assists Excel with their Saturday Academy by tutoring students in basic math skills.

Gallipeau Harris Foundation (GHF) - GHF is a non-profit foundation that seeks to provide educational opportunities and resources for poor, underprivileged children in Thailand. Through the Bangkok office, L.E.K. works to support the activities of the Foundation, and is directly sponsoring the education and English language program of school children.

Student Mentoring -  L.E.K. London works closely with a local secondary school to mentor pupils and give them the opportunity to work at L.E.K., either as a regular part-time employee, or on short temporary work placements.

Aplastic Anemia Trust London-Paris Foundation - Each year, L.E.K. London enters a team into this triathlon, which raises funds to promote research into aplastic anemia, and other bone marrow and anemia disorders. L.E.K. matches all sponsorship raised by individuals for this event.

Tour de Cure -  The L.E.K. New York office participates in the annual Tour de Cure bicycling event to raise money for the American Diabetes Association. Last year more than 55,000 cyclists in 80 events in 44 states raised more than $18 million to support the mission of the American Diabetes Association: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

Hope Street Charity - Every holiday season, the L.E.K. Sydney office supports the Hope Street Charity, which works with inner Sydney's homeless and disadvantaged community.  The L.E.K. staff helps the organization pack over 2000 items into 100 Christmas hampers, which are then delivered to those in need.

Disaster Relief in Sichuan Province, West China - Upon hearing the tragic news of a major and devastating earthquake in the Sichuan Province, the L.E.K. Shanghai office acted immediately and made donations to assist the relief work and help the survivors. The L.E.K. China Directors matched the L.E.K. staff donations resulting in a large financial donation to the Red Cross to help the people in the earthquake zone recover from this catastrophe.
