PanMass Challenge

For the last two years, L.E.K. has fielded a team that has participated in the 163 mile Pan Mass Challenge bicycle ride (www.pmc.org) from Wellesley, Massachusetts to Provincetown, Massachusetts. The Pan Mass Challenge is the largest single athletic fundraising event in the United States and its purpose is to raise funds for cancer care and research at the world renowned Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (www.dfci.harvard.edu). Each year the L.E.K. PMC Team has successfully battled heat, hills and humidity to complete the ride and in the process L.E.K. has raised over $250,000 for the fight against cancer!

Thanks to all who continue to support this worthwhile endeavor!

We invite you to read some of the Team's post-ride thoughts and reflections below.

--------------------------------

"It was an uplifting, heart-warming, and transformational experience ... thousands of spectators lined the course and at every major corner I heard 'thank you' or 'thank you for riding' or 'thank you for riding for my family' ... the most touching "thank you" came from a little boy who was diagnosed with cancer a number of years ago ... apparently year-after-year he holds up a sign at the same water stop that reads 'I'm __  [years old] now thanks to you'."

"It was an incredible experience from start to finish. I feel privileged to have taken part in such an important event for people with cancer and their families.  I was proud to ride for L.E.K. - the L.E.K. Team was awesome - and I was filled with pride when I crossed the finish line knowing that we raised over $250,000 for the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute."

"Riding in the PMC was the single most rewarding experience of my life. The cause, the camaraderie, and the constant great feeling and tone that carried through the entire weekend were absolutely unbelievable. It brought me great joy and emotion to see the children and adults alike with signs and shirts that read "I am a survivor", and to know that they attribute their win over cancer to people like us, riders in the PMC."

"Coming into the lunch stop on day one the entrance was lined with poster-sized pictures of the Pedal Partners - these are kids at the Dana Farber Center for treatment, most of whom have lost their hair, but all of whom are smiling through it - their courage and smiles mixed a couple of tears in with the sweat on my face."

"Thank you to L.E.K. and the L.E.K. family for making this possible"
